Department 56 Village Building
Perhaps the most impressive piece of classical architecture at Oxford University, the Radcliffe Camera was built between 1737 and 1748, and was the brainchild of John Radcliffe. He left a large sum of money to purchase the land to build on, and an endowment to pay a librarian and purchase books. For many yeras it was completely independent of the University's Bodleian Library, but today it serves all the students and scholars of the University.
