Alyssa and Tyler are newly married, with great taste and style.

Black tinsel wreath leaps from one season to a holiday to a celebration in a few simple changes. The value of quality ingredients as been a lesson well learned by our own Alyssa. She shared with us how she has repurposed her wreath base, ribbon and balls to celebrate 4th of July, Halloween, and Valentines day. Now her neighbors are lining up, wanting to place an order!

Quality base

Notice the items that she used the same in each wreath. She invested in the Black wreath base, bolt of black and white chevron ribbon, and some red balls.

Alyssa said she realized the quality of ingredients when she reused each time and it all still looked brand new. As newly married, with limited funds but the desire to decorate, she has found the perfect solution, repurpose and reuse!

From the looks of her wreaths she learned it well.

Way to go Alyssa, thanks for sharing!

An Egg-stra Special Easter Table

An Egg-stra Special Easter Table !

Are you planning a luncheon, family dinner or Easter feast? A great looking table will complement your wonderful food!

I love to use and reuse bases from other projects and get double or even triple duty out of my investment. That is why I love working with artificial florals, garlands and greenery. They don’t die and have to be thrown away! I also like to use garlands down the middle of a table to decorate seasonally. This is perfect complement to serving buffet style, a sit down meal or a fun dessert display! Here are the supplies that I started with……(I did make a quick run to #Walmart to pick up new plastic Easter eggs and grass, so many colors and fun patterns)

Turquoise Table cloth (last Spring #Walmart) and Black and White Chevron table runner (birthday gift)

Hand wrapped and wired Easter Egg garland

Bright Easter Egg Garland 5′
9′ Garland Sky blue

Close up of greenery twisted around Easter garland to secure.

Close up of greenery twisted around Easter garland to secure.

The 9′ garland in Sky blue (from Rebecca’s Christmas decorations) was the base to attach all the fun Easter too. I started by fluffing and shaping it out and placing it down the middle of the table, allowing it to hang over the ends. The Easter egg garland is a great hand wrapped wired garland, easy to shape out and attach to the blue garland by twisting the greenery over in several places. (no hot glue gun needed). The 5′ Easter garland was centered in the middle of the 9′ blue garland. After a quick trip to Walmart for new plastic Easter eggs and grass After securing the two garlands together it was time to add a focal point, Rebecca’s Easter bunny and a yellow basket. I used the garland greenery and Easter garland to wire on the bunny and basket.

Do you create a good first impression? (2012)

I st impressions matter!

Will Your 1st Impression, Open or Close Doors?

You never get a second Chance to make a 1st Impression!

You CANNOT, NOT make a first impression.

People always form an initial impression about us, our homes, our offices, our businesses the 1st time they come in contact with us, in person, over the telephone or at our front door.

The experts differ on the number of seconds it takes to create a 1st impression, but between 7-17 !

Vision leads the pack of our senses used to make a first impression, smell is second.

Cleaning, sweeping, fresh paint, clean glass, cobwebs, etc (don’t miss up high)

My door is the 1st impression of the theme of the party! Love the inspiration from my Lisa Frost Valentine heart!

Miss Cayce’s is celebrating 29 years (1984) in business in the Permian basin. because we are a seasonal store and we have lots of women that work for us and they change sometimes from season to season it was hard to keep up with birthdays, you would remember some and celebrate and forget others and have hurt feelings! So years ago we instituted a policy, if your birthday falls during our open season, you are responsible for celebrating and inviting us to the party! We have had catered lunches, complete with cake and party favors, and if you don’t throw your own celebration you cannot be upset if no one knows! Because my birthday is in February, the 12th to be exact, and close to Valentines day (one of my favorites) I throw myself a Valentine/Birthday party and invite my friends and family. This year was especially special because my little sister Jennifer and our Show Me Decorating team, Sal and Lanisa (from San Antonio) surprised me!
