Front Porch Decorated for Halloween

I love decorating my home for Fall and Halloween, but with my hectic schedule, I am sometimes short of time. An important rule to sometimes live by when it comes to decorating is the KISS rule, "Keep it Simple Stupid." So, this year I challenged myself to keep my decorating simple.

Simple decorating begins at your home! Bust out those boxes of Halloween and Fall decor. Next, think about the areas in your home that you want to decorate. Is it your kitchen? Dining Room for a party? Your Front Door? I typically think of 3 focal areas, decide on a theme and color story, and then pick the decor I have that fits the look.

My theme this year is Halloween Candy, specifically candy corn, so my color story is orange, yellow black and white! The three focal areas I am going to decorate are my Front Porch, Entry Tables and the Kitchen Table.

The key to simple decorating is to invest in products that celebrate every season, holiday or family celebration. Here are three of my favorite products.

1. Coton Colors

Coton Colors Neutral Dot Happy Everything Large Platter and Candy Corn Attachment

I love Coton Colors and their Happy Everything bases because they allow you to easily transition from holiday to holiday or just everyday celebrations with seasonal attachments. I had a back to school attachment up, but quickly switched it out with a Candy Corn Attachment to match my Halloween Decor.

Coton Colors offers several different styles of bases is 2 different sizes. There is Black and White Stripe, White Neutral Stripe and the Neutral Dot. A style to fit in with any home!

2. The Round Top Collection

The Round Top Collection has a line called, “Celebrate Everyday,” that is made for transitional decorating. There is a wide variety of bases and finials that you can choose from. The Bubble Jar base was perfect to use as my candy jar filled with Candy Corn to share, and I chose the Black Cat Finial to top it off because

  1. he is adorable
  2. his bowtie and hat match the theme.

I am a strong believer in adding a bow to everything to spruce it up!

Here tied a 3 tier bow made from a thin Glittered with a Black and White Check Rim Ribbon.

The Round Top Collection also has seasonal stakes that you use in your flower pots, or you can unscrew the stake, and add it as the center piece of your wreath or teardrop. My plants are luckily still alive, so I added the the Candy Stakes to my Flower Pot.

3. Glory Haus

Glory Haus Welcome Sign with Seasonal Toppers

I am obsessed with the Glory Haus Welcome sign. The sign comes with holiday toppers that fit right on top. I switched out the American Flag to the Fall Pumpkin, and it fit my theme perfectly. I will keep the pumpkin up until its time to transition to the Christmas Tree Topper. The Welcome Sign comes with several different toppers to use through out the year.

Bonus Trick!

The simplest trick for quick and easy decorating is using Bows! I know I say it all of the time, but it is true. I used three beautiful Wired Designer Ribbon in the color story to tie big fluffy bows to wire on my porch lights.

Using 4

Use a Four inch Statement Ribbon for your big loops, then layer on top thinner accent ribbons to create a beautiful and full bow. We understand the importance of products with great quality that last year after year, so we use ribbon that is not only sturdy and easy to fluff each year, but it is also weather resistant and perfect for both inside your house and out.

I always treat my front porch as an extension of my home. I added a bench with pillows to match my theme. My Black and White rug would look so cute with a Halloween mat on top. That just means I need to go shopping! Make a great first impression on your guests with how you decorate your Front Door.

Finally, the Halloween Teardrop completes the look and is the right size proportion for my door. I have two nails in my door painted to match the door to hang my wreaths or teardrops, but for this teardrop, the nails were not in the location I wanted. This is where Command Hooks come in handy! I attached the hook to the middle glass panel and hung the Decorated Teardrop.

Invest in easy decorating that you can use and add to every year. We suggest starting

with Coton Colors Happy Everything, The Round Top Collection and Glory Haus.
